After a fruitful career spanning more than 30 years as an executive and business angel with investments in different parts of the world, Francesc Robert has extensive experience in decision-making positions in all types of companies, both public and private, listed on the stock exchange or start-ups involving young entrepreneurs.

He now capitalises on this experience as a consultant, but above all as a coach for people who occupy positions in organisations where decisions are part of everyday life. And just as in sport, the better organised the coaching is and the more clear-sighted you are about your objectives, the easier and quicker it will be to reach them.

IN PRAISE OF MISTAKES


"I have not failed. I have found 10,000 solutions that don't work". This quote from the great inventor Thomas Alba Edison can serve as a summary of the spirit that has always guided Francesc Robert as an entrepreneur and investor: that of not being afraid of failure.

The intention of In Praise of Mistakes ("Elogio del Error") is, in fact, to delve into Francesc Robert's successes and failures and to analyse the factors that have led him to one state or the other, while placing special emphasis on the failures as the roots of the consequent success.

This book is based on the premise that talking about mistakes will be more useful to the reader than outlining supposed magic recipes for achieving wealth in just four days.

Coaching for an organisation's top executives is aimed at the optimal implementation of the business plan as well as building leadership. With coaching which is well planned, as in sport, strengths are optimised and weaknesses are improved.

Teams and 360° analysis

 

Coaching is not only for individuals; it can also benefit teams. Depending on the organisation and its size, there will be more or less need for group work. 

METHODOLOGY

The methodology varies according to each client and their objectives, but the work is always based on coaching and not only on finding answers but also on asking more questions that lead to self-examination and ongoing improvement.

Coaching for an organisation's top executives is aimed at the optimal implementation of the business plan as well as building leadership. With coaching which is well planned, as in sport, strengths are optimised and weaknesses are improved.

Our work is organised into blocks of five individualised sessions lasting 1h 30 minutes:

  • A first diagnostic session, where a SWOT analysis is carried out, serves as orientation for the coach and allows us to establish objectives and define the working methodology.
  • In the following three sessions, we work on the objectives in a way that is tailored to each client.
  • In the fifth session, we assess the work done to date, look at the current situation in comparison with the first session and identify areas for improvement.

This does not mean that the work is limited to five sessions. Our method involves working in blocks of five sessions with no limitations. Just as in sport, as long as you want to be competitive or in shape, you have to keep training. And as in sport, there are cycles and stages of the year that require more training while others are for rest or recovery.

    During his professional career Francesc Robert has collaborated, either as an investor, consultant, executive or member of a board of directors, with companies from different countries (Canada, Spain, Andorra, USA, UAE, Germany, France, UK, among others), which has given him a global and transnational perspective on the world of business. Robert thus continues to provide professional coaching internationally, working anywhere in the world and with the ability to provide his consultancy services in different languages (mainly English, French, Spanish and Catalan).
